The 1553 UAC will accept up to four (4) channels of dual redundant Mil-Std-1553 data from the bus. The data bus channel includes both the primary and secondary busses. The UAC may contain four (4) dual redundant Mil-Std-1553 channels. These interface channels are configured at the factory by
programming of the appropriate firmware.
Mil-Std-1553 Interface:
A dual redundant Mil-Std-1553 data bus is interfaced to a UAC channel via longstub or short-stub transformer coupling. Mil-Std-1553 bus transformers used in the interface provide all of the turn ratio configurations, component isolation, and common mode rejection ratio characteristics necessary to accept the Mil-Std-1553B bus standard. (Sine and Trapezoidal waveforms). Information from both the primary and secondary busses of each bus is recorded. The interface operates in a "record all" and "selectable" mode, with a look-up table stored in a configuration file in the system and set-up via configuration software run on the system. The Mil-Std-1553 data is stored in ASCI or binary format on the RMM. Each Mil-Std-1553 channel will require a maximum bandwidth of 1 Mbit/second of available system bandwidth.
